The Curriculum

Statement of Curriculum Entitlement for pupils at Appleshaw St Peter’s
We believe in an exciting, engaging, challenging and immersive learning experience for all pupils. As well as access to the statutory National Curriculum and locally agreed RE curriculum, all pupils at our school will have a diverse range of opportunities and experiences in the arts, sport and in the natural environment.

In response to the new National Curriculum which came into force on September 1st 2014 (link to DfE website here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/national-curriculum) we have organised the curriculum subjects into coherent areas thus:

Languages and Literacy (including French and Digital Literacy)

Mathematical Understanding

Physical Education

Cultural Literacy (History, Art and Music)

The Great Outdoors (science, geography, outdoor learning)

Computer Science and Design Technology

Spiritual, Moral and Personal Development Learning (RE, PSHE, Philosophy for Children, Collective Worship)

You can find out more about these subject areas by navigating the links on the menu to the left. If you have any further questions about the curriculum that your child is following then please contact your child's class teacher in the first instance.
