Geoffrey Cooper: Foundation Governor

I have been a governor since 1997, I was the chair of the Whole Governing Body from 2005 - 2016 and I also chair the School Improvement Committee. I am now retired after a career as a lawyer with BP in London and Vodafone in Newbury.

Committees: School Improvement Committee, Single Equality Working Group, Admissions Panel, Headteacher’s Review Panel

Positions: Chair of the School Improvement Committee.

 


 

Nicki Bass: Parent Governor

I joined as a governor in July 2016 and have two children, one of whom is at the school. As an officer in the Army Educational and Training Services, I have a background in adult education, specialising in language teaching. I am also currently studying for a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology and have a particular interest in the areas of equality and diversity.

Ros Bass: Local Authority Governor

I have been a governor for over 12 years and am currently vice chair of the Whole Governing Body as well as taking responsibility for Safeguarding and Special Educational Needs. I have a passion for education and have spent my working life in early years. My two children, who are now grown up, both attended Appleshaw.  We live in the village and you may see me out and about walking my dog, a vizsla called Lola!

Sarah Dabill: Staff Governor

I’ve worked in the school since September 2009 as Year 5/6 teacher and Deputy Headteacher. My role is staff governor and member of the Curriculum and Standards Committee. I have a deep-rooted passion for education and strive for all pupils in the school to achieve their very best.

Sally Lewis: Foundation Governor

I have recently joined the school as a Foundation Governor and am a member of the School Improvement Committee.  I have worked for the past 20 years in early years education as a teacher, nursery manager and an early years consultant, helping develop and set up nursery schools.  I was previously a Governor at Grateley Primary School where our two youngest girls attended. I have four, now grown up, children and my family have lived in and around Andover for the past 12 years.

Major Adrian Havelock: Parent Governor

A governor since June 2016. A parent governor with two children at the school. First year as a governor but spent 6 months as a teacher before joining the army. Within the army I run numerous boards, accounts and projects. Currently finishing an MBA in Business Management.

Debbie Henrys: Foundation Governor

I re-joined the governing body in February 2015, having previously served a term of 8 years from 2005 to 2013. I chair the Resources Committee and, having a background in accountancy, fulfil the role of Finance Governor. I also work at the school as an LSA with Year 5/6. I have three children, who all attended Appleshaw, and have always taken a keen interest in education. I also spent many years as treasurer of the PTA and Pippins Pre-school.

Rhonda Smith: Foundation Governor

I am a Foundation Governor for Appleshaw and have been in post for two years, having moved to Clanville in 2011. I am a member of the Curriculum Committee and have a particular interest in supporting children’s ability to express themselves and communicating with others. Previously I was a Governor and Chair of Governors at Amport School which was attended by my two daughters, both now grown up and pursuing their own professional careers. I run my own business based in Andover specialising in public relations work in healthcare and science.

Rosie Wilson: Foundation Governor

I became a Foundation Governor in February 2015 and Chair of the Whole Governing Body in Nov 2016. My children both attend the school. I enjoy being a governor as it enables me to gain a different perspective on the school and I am able to contribute my professional skills to help the whole school community work towards our vision for Appleshaw St Peters. I live locally and enjoy running and spending time outdoors with my family. My professional background is as an IT Project Manager across the Finance, Charity and Engineering sectors.
