Appleshaw St Peter's

Church of England Primary School

Safeguarding

We take the safeguarding and welfare of our pupils at Appleshaw St Peter's very seriously. Mr Hickman, the Headteacher, is the Designated Safeguarding Lead and is repsonsible for:

  • Making sure all staff are aware how to raise safeguarding concerns
  • Ensuring all staff understand the symptoms of child abuse and neglect
  • Referring any concerns to social care
  • Monitoring children who are the subject of child protection plans
  • Maintaining accurate and secure child protection records

In addition to Mr Hickman, the school has two other members of staff who are trained to the same level and can deal with safeguarding incidents and matters relating to child protection in his absence. They are Mrs Dabill who is the Deputy Headteacher and Mrs Simmonds who is the Special Needs Coordinator.
