Principles

Our Curriculum Principles, which were developed by staff, governors, pupils and parents, are set out below. They were written to reflect the needs and aspirations of our community and the environment that we find ourselves in. They underpin all the curriculum work we do. Our first referenece point are these principles:

Learning MUST:

Cater for a range of learning styles

Allow opportunities for collaboration

Encourage independence through enabling learning how to learn

Make use of the school grounds

Make links with other curriculum areas

Involve the wider community

Be practical and entrenched in ‘doing’

Develop life/social skills

Encourage creative thinking

Allow children to contribute to learning in a meaningful way

Our aim is to produce Responsible Citizens, Independent Learners and Creative Thinkers.
