Physical Education

Physical Education encompasses games, gymnastics and dance. Games lessons take place weekly. this year our pupils and staff will be working alongside a specialist games coach to further develop our provision and skills. Following a successful model at a local outstanding school recognised for it PE provision we have adopted a 'blocked' approach to gym and dance teaching whereby pupils have an intensive week of gym leading to a performance at the end of the week.

Obviously Physical Education isn't just restricted to lesson time. At break and lunch we have a wide range of equipment for pupils to use. Our Play Leaders (older pupils in the school) help to organise games such as cricket and skipping with the younger pupils.

As part of the continuous provision in Year R we have a good selection of bikes and trikes to develop strength and gross motor control.

As part of our extra-curricular provision we offer a multi-sports club for Key Stage 1 as well as netball, football and cricket for Key Stage 2.
